When Franco’s troops enter the city, she decides to flee to France and survive. However, on the other side of the border she finds an even worse conflict... This is the story of a woman whose life should never fall into oblivion. In memory of all those who made self-preservation their banner, even if they lost hope at times, but who were reborn from their ashes every time. In the eightieth anniversary of the end of World War II, in this work, Diego Bris retraces the story of Leona Escalera, a Spanish refugee who suffered the expansion of fascist ideology through Europe and the advancement of the Nazi occupation, while participating in the French Resistance. Her name and life story are unknown, but her struggle reminds us of the horrors of a war we all know about. This is a novel about an anonymous woman in a war we all know of.
